In the fall and spring of the '17-18 semester, in two sections of first-year writing, students were invited to speak back to events occurring in Charlottesville, contribute their experiences, and add their voices to texts on race from Ta-Nehisi Coates, Peggy McIntosh, and Brent Staples, to name a few.
